I positioned the solenoid straight down for the maximum clearance to the header pipe. If memory serves, in 1960, Fords went from the MEL to the 360 HiPo. Then I installed the new starter from RobbMC per the instructions. Its not uncommon for advertising and marketing to get ahead of production. Each kit comes with detailed, easy-to-follow installation instructions and mounting template. I trimmed a little flash off the block casting below the starter to insure room for the new starter solenoid with a die grinder.
